Facebook is slowly moving its employees into a new campus in Menlo Park, California that formerly housed Sun Microsystems. And already, the kids can’t seem to keep from writing whatever they want on the walls. Some of the partitions in the new office space have been punched out to create roomier spaces, but others have been covered with blackboard paint on which employees can doodle idly.
Conference rooms have been christened with ironic-pseudo-retro-meta-techie names like Whiskey on the Ewoks, Obi Wan Peroni, and Cool Story Bro. Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t have his own office, though he does get a conference room all to himself. The bar is stocked with Pabst Blue Ribbon, forever solidifying the bond between once-in-a-zeitgeist social media company and Milwaukee trucker honky-tonks. And the kitchens are a hyped-up Seinfeld fan’s dream – all Cheerios and Red Bull.
With plans to build a burger stand, noodle joint, and bike shop on the new campus, the only question is: Who wouldn’t like this?
